While Flexan has a rich and successful history in the world of custom manufacturing, our leadership team leverages this history with more than 125 years of combined experience in the medical device industry. Our leaders have excelled in a wide range of divisions within the industry, including sales, marketing, business development, product development, new ventures and more. Additionally, members of our leadership team add to our collective knowledge with experience directly in the world of manufacturing. This combination of medical device and manufacturing experience provides Flexan and its clients with a greater perspective, a better process and an improved experience.
Tony Gonzalez
President
Flexan would like to extend a welcome to Tony Gonzalez who will be our new President. Tony brings over 20 years of experience in strategy, leadership, decision-making, and technical capabilities from the medical device, contract electronics manufacturing and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining us at Flexan, he served as President at Integer Holdings Corporation. He has also held roles in operations, strategic projects, customer service, and supply chain. Tony earned his Executive MBA from University of Southern California, Master of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi State University and bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration from Universidad Panamericana. Welcome to the Flexan family, Tony!
Mike Huiras
Vice President Sales & Marketing
Mike joined Flexan as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing in January 2016. Mike began his career with Helen Curtis/Unilever as a sales representative for the consumer products division. He joined Abbott in the Diagnostic and Molecular Diagnostics divisions, where he spent 23 years in several sales and marketing management roles supporting global product development, new ventures and international commercial operations. Most recently, Mike served as the Senior Director of Global Marketing for Abbott Molecular. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago.
Steve Hellstrom
Vice President of Quality
Steve joined Flexan LLC in February of 2022 with nearly 30 years of Medical Device R&D and Quality experience. Most recently, Steve served as the Sr. Director of FDA Compliance for Fresenius Kabi’s Infusion Device Business. Prior to joining Flexan, Steve has also held senior Quality roles at Abbott Laboratories, ArjoHuntleigh, Medline, and Hollister. Steve holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University.
Michael Kilhefner
Vice President of Operations
Michael brings extensive experience in the healthcare and medical device industries over his 35+ year career. He joins Flexan from Abbott Laboratories where he served as Director of Operations & Site Director, Director of Packaging and Molding, overseeing a 255,000 sq. ft facility with full P&L ownership. Michael has significant experience in manufacturing operations, new product development, automation, and program management, performed at consistently high levels of success in achieving product portfolio revenue, cost, quality, and delivery metrics. He has led successful medical device and consumer product development and manufacturing deployments domestically as well as Eastern Europe, Mexico, South Korea, and China. Prior to Abbott, Michael served as Director of Operations Engineering for Medela LLC, a medical device leader in vacuum pump technology for the healthcare and consumer product industry. During his career, Michael has held various leadership roles at Sound World Solutions, Dexter Magnetic Technologies, Dentsply International, and Shure Incorporated. He will be primarily located at Flexan's Lincolnshire facility and will spend time at each of Flexan's locations based on the needs of the business. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Tri-State University (Trine), a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration from Almeda University.
