Flexan companies work closely with each client to determine the appropriate mold design to ensure efficient manufacturability to produce their silicone component.

Liquid Injection Molding

Liquid silicone rubber is injected into a mixer and then into a mold cavity. The process us highly efficient and completely closed, minimizing human interaction and avoiding contamination.

Transfer Molding

Silicone gumstock is pushed into a mold cavity and heated under pressure. The process is ideal for complex shapes and thin walls.

Compression Molding

Silicone rubber is placed in heated mold cavities, and the closing of the mold completes the fill. This process involves little setup time and is ideal for short runs.


Precise tooling with edge, fan and/or microgates is used to enable precise control. This process is ideal for challenging geometries and complex features, as we can hold tolerances with the micron range.

Silicone Overmolding

Silicone rubber is formed around and bonded to a substrate made of silicone or another material. This process can be used to insulate the component from electrical currents, protect it from mechanical wear and tear, and/or simplify design by combining multiple parts into one.
